FAQ Friday: What is a Collaborative Divorce?

“Collaborative divorce is a process in which the parties and their attorneys agree to settle their case outside the court system. They bring in other professionals as needed such as a divorce coach to help manage the emotions in the process or a financial expert to help run numbers or to value a business if there is one. They exchange information voluntarily rather than through formal discovery processes. In the end, they reach an agreement efficiently, effectively, respectfully and privately through this confidential process.”
