Elsie Gonzalez, Esq. has devoted her legal career exclusively to the practice of family and matrimonial law. Since the beginning of her career, Ms. Gonzalez has focused on helping individuals and families navigate some of life’s most challenging transitions with compassion, strategic advocacy, and practical guidance. Ms. Gonzalez developed a strong foundation in family law through an impressive combination of judicial clerkships, legal internships, and private practice experience. Following law school, she clerked for the late and beloved Honorable Lisa P. Thornton, A.J.S.C. She also interned for the Honorable Julio M. Fuentes of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit, the Honorable Michael A. Shipp, U.S.D.J., and the Honorable Susan D. Wigenton, U.S.D.J., of the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey.
In addition to her litigation experience, Ms. Gonzalez is a qualified family law mediator who understands the value of helping families resolve disputes through collaborative, efficient, and cost-effective alternatives to litigation when appropriate. She was also a contributing author to the ICLE publication, the Yudes Family Law Citator, an annual treatise relied upon by family and matrimonial attorneys throughout New Jersey.
Ms. Gonzalez represents clients in all aspects of family and matrimonial law, including divorce litigation, appeals, mediation and arbitration, custody and parenting time disputes, alimony and child support, separation and property settlement agreements, domestic violence and sexual abuse matters, and palimony. She has also handled high-profile and complex matrimonial matters, providing clients with thoughtful counsel and steadfast advocacy from the initial filing through the successful resolution of their cases.
