Megan Hodes, Esq. brings deep compassion, courtroom confidence, and a lifelong dedication to public service. A Bergen County native, Megan has devoted her legal career to helping individuals and families move through emotionally charged transitions with clarity, dignity, and strength. Before becoming an attorney, Megan worked as a paralegal in matrimonial law for two years. This experience sharpened her attention to detail, honed her writing skills, and affirmed her commitment to family law. Her clients benefit from that foundation every day: Megan works efficiently, communicates clearly, and always keeps client needs front and center.
Megan earned her J.D. from the Elisabeth Haub School of Law at Pace University, where she was deeply involved in pro bono work. She interned for Volunteer Lawyers for Justice/Newark’s ReLeSe program, where she drafted family court motions for individuals reentering society after incarceration. Her passion for advocacy and access to justice led to additional internships at the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office, the New York County District Attorney’s Office, and the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of New Jersey. She was twice awarded the Public Interest Law Center Fellowship and received the Pro Bono Justice Award for Extraordinary Service.
Following law school, Megan clerked for the Hon. Teresa Kondrup Coyle, J.S.C., in Monmouth County, where she worked closely on cases involving the Division of Child Protection and Permanency (DCPP).
Megan’s courtroom experience is matched by her communication skills. A former president of Boston University’s Parliamentary Debate Association and a frequent moot court competitor, Megan brings poise, precision, and persuasion to every case. Her clients often describe her as both fierce and kind – qualities that reflect her deep commitment to protecting families and securing fair outcomes.
She is admitted to practice in the State of New Jersey and the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey.
