Denim Day | Sexual Violence Awareness

Today is Denim Day, an annual event that raises awareness about sexual violence, particularly focusing on sexual assault and the harmful effects of victim-blaming.

We wear denim as a statement. A statement against victim-blaming. A statement in support of survivors. A statement that consent is never optional.

Every voice matters. Every story deserves to be heard. 💙🤍

How You Can Support

• People are encouraged to wear denim (jeans, jackets, etc.) on Denim Day as a visual protest and a show of solidarity.
• Take time to learn more about sexual violence, consent, and the myths surrounding sexual assault.
• Many organizations and institutions host events, rallies, or educational sessions for Denim Day. If there’s one near you, participate!
• Volunteer or donate to organizations that support survivors, like The National Sexual Assault Hotline or local helplines like Safe & Sound Somerset.
• Consider donating to local or national sexual violence prevention and advocacy groups to support their important work.
