Jeralyn Lawrence was quoted in the NJ.com article, “Two new N.J. Supreme Court justices sworn in”:
“Their swearing-in today marks a positive step forward for a court that for too long operated with only four of its seven seats filled,” Lawrence said in a statement. “Now that Justices Wainer Apter and Fasciale have taken their oaths, the state’s residents and judicial system will benefit from their stewardship and experience for years to come. But there is still more work ahead in solving the state’s judicial vacancy crisis. We hope the governor and state Legislature use this momentum to fill the last vacant Supreme Court seat, along with the 65 Superior Court judgeships that remain empty.’”
Without a full complement of judges in the judiciary, Lawrence said “New Jersey residents involved with the justice system will continue to suffer crippling delays in having their matters resolved by the court and, will continue to be deprived of access to justice.”
