Rita Aquilio, a divorce and family law attorney with Lawrence Law, was quoted in the Spring 2020 issue of ABA Litigation News. The article, LegalMatch Must Be Regulated as a Lawyer Referral Source, discussed the recent decision in Jackson v. LegalMatch. At issue is whether on-line referral services are in the public’s best interests. Aquilio, co-chair of the Section of Litigation’s Family Law Litigation Committee, says, “Information that would be helpful for the public to be aware of includes whether a particular attorney is keeping up with required continuing legal education, is registered with a particular state bar, is in good standing with their state bar regarding their license, or if they have any disciplinary actions or ethical violations against them.”
Litigation News is a publication of the American Bar Association. It keeps ABA members current on recent legal trends across the country, focusing on hot topics that include attorney-client privilege, business development, civil procedure, ethics, evidence, and technology.
Lawrence Law, with offices in Watchung and Red Bank, New Jersey, is a boutique firm devoted exclusively to the practice of matrimonial and family law.
