Rita M. Aquilio Reappointed to the Family Law Section Executive Committee

Rita M. Aquilio, a matrimonial and family law attorney with Lawrence Law, was reappointed to the Family Law Section Executive Committee (FLEC) of the New Jersey State Bar Association. 2020 marks the seventh year in a row that Aquilio has been reappointed to the Executive Committee. She has also again been appointed to serve as the American Bar Association Liaison to FLEC and will serve on two committees. The first is the Legislation & Domestic Violence Issues Committee which will monitor the progress of the Supreme Court task force and all bills in the NJ Legislature. The second is the Equitable Distribution Committee which reviews case law, statutes and court rules to determine if there are changes necessary to reflect the COVID-19 pandemic and its effects.

“It is an honor to continue to serve on the Family Law Executive Committee alongside many of the State’s brightest and most passionate family law attorneys and to assist as a member of the Domestic Violence Legislative and Equitable Distribution Subcommittees,” says Aquilio.

The Family Law Section of the New Jersey State Bar Association maintains and improves the practice of family law through effective interaction with the family courts and by informing members of current legislation and regulations.

Lawrence Law, with offices in Watchung and Red Bank, New Jersey, is a boutique firm devoted exclusively to the practice of matrimonial and family law.
